Conceptualised in 2010 by drummer, Phillip Campbell. Waratah Drum Corps takes its inspiration from the precision drumming of the traditional Swiss Military Tatoo. Phillip describes the group as ‘Street Tatoo’ fusing Swiss rudimental drumming dating back 400 years with contemporary world and street rhythms. Waratah Drum Corps’ debut performance at Winter Magic 2011 earned them ‘Best Performers’ and ‘Best Dressed’ awards in the main parade. As a follow up in 2012 they received the honour of being asked to perform on the roof of the grand Carrington Hotel in Katoomba to herald in the main fire works event. Comprising 8-10 drummers and 2-4 flag waver percussionists, guaranteed to impress and excite any audience. Precise, powerful, exciting, visual. Available for corporate events, parades, festivals, rallies and workshops. |
