BumpCity's energy and passion explodes from the stage and has people talking about their high level of excitement, professionalism and musicianship. BumpCity jams on the "old school" funk and soul music of Tower of Power, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Bill Withers, Blood, Sweat and Tears, Wilson Pickett, Steely Dan, Ray Charles and Al Jarreau. With front man Peter Morgan on vocals and percussion, a 4 piece rhythm section and 5 horns, BumpCity's dynamic, soulful and funky grooves always get the place shakin'. BumpCity received a standing ovation at the 2004 Manly International Jazz Festival and opened for America's highest selling Polynesian funk and hip hop artist "Fiji" on his inaugural Australian Tour at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in 2005. Bump City have been regulars at Sydney venues The Basement, T2 Bar, New Market Hotel and appeared at the Hollywood Hotel and The Soup Plus. 2006 saw BumpCity perform live on Australian national TV Channel 9's "Mornings with Kerrie-Anne". As a result of their stella performance, Peter Morgan and BumpCity were invited to open and back The Supremes in their only Australian public performance at The State Theatre. |
